We have used Smith and Keen for a few years now to service our HVAC units, and we have been very pleased with their service. Dennis, whom is our maintenance technician is excellent. He is respectful, courteous, on time, but most of all, he does a great job.

I will not call Smith and Keene again. I waited in an empty house for 5+ hours for a technician who came to do a job. Only to find out Smith and Keene doesn't perform this type service. Clearly a misunderstanding; And my clients were charged.(I will pay for them) These clients have been serviced by Smith and Keene many years and had recently purchased new HVAC equipment from them. I kindly explained the misunderstanding about the job to be done and to be quite blunt no one cared. In response. I made the appointment. They did not call and you are mis-informed. This was not called out by the home inspector it was called out by the appraiser and I was very clear about the work that needed to be done as the asbestos covered pipes needed to be wrapped in plastic and sealed with tape. I explained this when I made the appt. as I knew this could be sensitive since asbestos was involved.

I have had it with S&K's lack of customer service! We run a clinic for special needs children and our lease requires us to contract with an HVAC company to perform regular maintenance twice a year. We have, unfortunately, contracted with S&K for nearly two years because of an agreement with our landlord. With that in mind, you would think Smith and Keene would at least afford us a little bit support after two years...Nope! I told S&K that I need more than just a phone call when they are on their way to perform maintenance in order to ensure our kiddos and therapists are prepared. I asked for a 2-3 three hour window like most of the rest of the maintenance world works, but that is not possible with S&K. Their response to me was "we do not operate that way." What's worse is they have showed up unannounced on occasion, which caused a lot of problems for our kiddos and staff. I'm done with them.

The install went well, very professional. Have had the unit for less than 3 months and it is not working now. Repair technician stated a part needs to be replaced and it would take 2 days to come in. 2 days has come and gone, now they say 2 more days. Frustrating when you pay so much for a new unit, only to have the same issues...Understand its a warranty part, but if this is your main business you should have repair parts in stock, especially when you state it happens all the time. So easy to have repair parts in stocks and replenish with the warranty parts?

Had new air heating/ac unit installed spring 2019. It worked great for 1 year and this past summer it failed to keep my house cool. Had a tech come to the house it worked great for a few days but after a few days it went back to working subpar. Would not recommend this company. Update: I reached out to Smith and Keene November 3 and they want to charge me another 89 service fee. The problems wasn't remedy the first time but want me to go in my pocket again. Clearly, there goal was to act like they care with their response. Buyer Beware

***UPDATE to the 1-star review I left last week.*** Smith & Keene called and said they "would make it right" and they DID! Today, they had their Lead plumber come by and correct all of the issues that were previously done incorrectly. Everything is working as it should and Herb was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and didn't make a mess. I am appreciative of Smith & Keene's commitment to "make it right". Thank you. DO NOT USE SMITH & KEENE FOR YOUR PLUMBING NEEDS! Although I had a 5-star experience with the HVAC department, their Plumbing department is an absolute joke! They only have 2 Plumbers on staff yet spend money to advertise they do plumbing & electrical. Filthy and incompetent plumber seemed clueless. He had to immediately come back because lines were not installed correctly and water was leaking all over the cabinet under the sink and caused water damage to the cabinet. Also, cracked the quartz countertop when removing the old handle. They cannot even install a faucet properly …it’s loose, wobbles and is causing more water to leak under sink. His solution was to caulk it which did absolutely nothing and looks half-a$$. Claimed the bolt seized up and couldn’t tighten anymore. But my hardware friends said there are 100 ways to unseize a bolt. Waiting on a call for them to get back out here and install it RIGHT! Don’t get me started on the filth and mess that was left in each room where work was being done. I spent an hour cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, washing towels and scrubbing grease stains off the walls after this clown left. I’ve never in my life had a repairman leave a worksite as filthy as this! Do not waste your time or money using Smith & Keene for plumbing!!!
